CHAI MODERN

Through intense observation and radical opposition of the world we live in, contemporary art challenges our fixed perceptions of global boundaries while creating a more fluid exchange between the voices, identities and issues that inhabit them. 

Understanding that cultures present a complex coexistence of identity and otherness, CHAI MoDERN utilizes the arts to create a passionate dialogue between social tensions and cultural conditions that are explored within fine art, music, literature and film. While propelling artistic exchange between the G-20 nations, Chai Modern specifically seeks to promote a greater understanding of cultures through these various mediums of communication. 

Supporting established and emerging artists alike, the program creates an effective platform for innovative work that fearlessly pushes the aesthetic boundaries and inspires a deeper search for meaning. In welcoming the unsettling beauty, discomfort, and power translated through artists work, we attain a deeper understanding for the world we live in and inspire a greater appreciation for cultural, racial and regional differences.

Our program intends to curate shows annually that identify artists and provide them with a platform to showcase works which embody our mission and values.
